What is the Campus Card?
The Campus Card is your SBCC picture ID card which may be used as a cash card for select campus services.
What can I do with my Campus Card?
You can use it to pay for the following items and at the following locations:
- The Campus Bookstore (Bookstore category)
- All food service venues (Dining category)
- Select campus vending machines (FLEX [Recommended] category )
- Printing in on-campus computer labs with the GoPrint system (Printing Category)
- Pay for Library fines (FLEX [Recommended] category)
- Copy machines at the Luria Library (FLEX [Recommended] category)
Where do I get my Campus Card?
Get your picture taken and receive your card in the Admissions and Records office in the first floor of the Student Services (SS) building. (campus map)
How do I put money on my Campus Card?
Online: 1. Login to your Campus Portal account. 2. Go to campus card to login. 3. Click on Deposits. 4. Under "Account" you will be shown the following categories on which to place funds:
- FLEX (Recommended): Can be spent any place Campus Cards are accepted.
- BOOKSTORE: Can ONLY be spent at the Bookstore on campus.
- PRINTING: Can ONLY be used at Go-Print release stations. (does not include copy machines.)
- DINING: Can ONLY be used at Food Service venues, (does not included vending machines.) PLEASE NOTE: In order to pay for copies at the copy machines you must have funds on your FLEX account as opposed to the "Printing" account. The printing account is only to pay for print jobs at the GoPrint stations, not at the copy machines. To move funds to the FLEX category, please contact the Card Administrator using the contact information below. Requests will be processed within 1-2 business days. On Campus: 1. Use one of the Campus Card ATMs located in the Campus Center (CC) or Campus Bookstore (CBS) (campus map). Add value using cash ($1 minimum) or with a credit or debit card ($10 minimum) Note: The Campus Card ATM is for deposits and balance queries only.
My Campus Card is lost (or was stolen) What do I do?
You will need to cancel the lost or stolen card then get a new one. Login to your Campus Card account through the portal, then click on "cancel your card." My Campus Card won't work. It says "Insufficient Funds."
Possible scenarios:
- No money has been deposited on your account.
- Funds are in the wrong category for use at the venue -FLEX (Recommended): Can be spent any place Campus Cards are accepted. -BOOKSTORE: Can ONLY be spent at the Bookstore on campus. -PRINTING: Can ONLY be used at Go-Print release stations. -DINING: Can ONLY be used at Food Service venues, (does not included vending machines.) PLEASE NOTE: In order to pay for copies at the Xerox machines you must have funds on your "Flex" account as opposed to the "Printing" account. The printing account is only to pay for print jobs at the GoPrint stations, not at the Xerox machines. My Campus Card won't work. It says "No Account Found."
Possible scenarios:
- Magnetic Strip on back of Campus Card has been de-magnetized. -Take the card to the Campus Security Office (campus map).and have it re-encoded.
- Campus Card presented may not be the active card. -Did you get a replacement card? Only the NEWEST ID card is active and can be used in the Campus Card system. If you are unsure which card is active, go to Student Services, present card(s) to staff and have a new ID card issued.
- A student accidentally reported his/her card lost or stolen via the web, 'freezing' use of card. -Please contact Card Administrator. Campus Card Administrator Email: campuscard@sbcc.edu Phone: (805) 965-0581 x3457
Can I get a refund?
Refunds will be provided, with the following conditions: If an Email request by the cardholder is sent to campuscard@sbcc.edu (include Full Name, K number and current mailing address) AND the student cardholder graduates, withdraws, or is dismissed from the college, employee cardholder terminates employment, AND refund amount is greater than $1.00, after mandatory $10.00 fee is charged against the remaining balance.
Additional Information: Books and merchandise purchased using Campus Card will be refunded to the cardholder account according to the existing Bookstore refund policy. Refunds are not available at the Campus Card ATM in the Campus Center. Refund checks are written in the name of the account holder and mailed to the address provided in the email request. An account will be closed automatically when a student is no longer registered. Employee accounts are closed on the last day of employment with the college. Any remaining balance in accounts automatically closed may be forfeited to the college. Questions?
