Evaluation of Associate and Bachelor's Degrees Toward the SBCC General Education Degree Requirement
You may submit a request for evaluation of your Associate degree from a California Community College or Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution toward the SBCC general education degree requirement.
Students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. regionally accredited institution are considered to have met the general education requirements for the associate degree (Title 5, §55062(e)).
Students with an associate degree from a California Community College who are pursuing an additional degree at Santa Barbara City College are also deemed to have satisfied the general education requirement (local policy).

How your Associate or Bachelor's degree is evaluated
Contact an Academic Counselor for assistance if you have questions about the information below.
Successful completion of an Associate's degree earned from a California Community College or a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution can be used to meet the SBCC general education degree requirement.
Cal-GETC, IGETC or CSU general education requirements are another option to fulfill general education requirements for an Associate in Arts or an Associate in Science degree. However, we cannot evaluate your Associate or Bachelors' degree toward these requirements; we can only evaluate it toward the SBCC general education degree requirement.
