In-person proctoring at off-campus locations
If it is not feasible for a student in an online class to take an exam on campus, then it is the responsibility of the student to locate an in-person proctor at an off-campus location. The national site linked below is a good source of information on possible locations. The student should contact the potential location to verify that they can accommodate the student before submitting an approval request to the course instructor.
In-person proctoring at off-campus locations
An off-campus site administers exams for online courses in-person and is the student's responsibility to locate. Webcam or any other virtual proctoring services are not accepted by the SBCC Mathematics Department. Testing centers at colleges, universities, libraries and learning centers are all commonly used locations. All students need to reach out to the potential proctor to confirm that the proctor is able and willing to accommodate the student BEFORE submitting a request to their instructor to take an exam off-campus. Any fees associated with the remote proctor are the responsibility of the student.
