More About Bonny

SBCC has been my home away from home for many years. I loved my two years as a student here after I graduated from high school. I transferred to UCSB where I got my BA in English (and survived my time living out in Isla Vista). I got my MA in English Literature and earned a Certificate in the Teaching of Composition from SFSU. I taught at Foothill College, San Jose City College, Oxnard College, and Ventura College before landing at SBCC. As an English instructor, I believe in exploring universal themes that connect us all. I’m interested in creating a sense of community in my classes and pushing students to learn about themselves and others. I am grateful and humbled by how much I get in return from my students. Teaching keeps me hopeful—about the world and our future. Welcome to SBCC!
