Housing Bulletin Board: The bulletin board is located in the Campus Center outside of Room CC-217, and can be viewed from 7:30am to 9:00pm, Monday through Friday. A variety of situations and accommodations account for the wide range in prices.  These same postings are available online at the website below.

Website: View the daily updated list of available rooms and apartments for rent by accessing the current housing list. These listings are offered either by landlords, or by students who have secured an apartment or house and need a roommate(s).

Rental Agreement: Take the time to discuss rental details and any specific points that are not clear. Don't assume anything; get it in writing. Payment by check or money order is advised for receipt and record keeping purposes. Understand the agreement BEFORE you sign it, and keep a copy.  If you have any questions or should problems occur we suggest you call Rental Housing Mediation Task Force at (805) 564-5420

Rental Information:  For valuable renter information please go to the California Apartment Association.  Select "Renters", then select "Read Renting - A User Manual".

Screening Roommates: Know their parent's home address and phone number. Have a Roommate Agreement informally written up specifying your expectations regarding paying bills, cleaning up, lights out, noise, general lifestyle, etc.

Student-Tenant Resume Tips: Creating a student resume would be a very beneficial way to introduce yourself to a prospective landlord. Basic information for your tenant resume would include the following: name, address and phone number of your parents, your last rental address, duration of tenancy, and manager's name. List jobs you have held, volunteer experience, clubs you belong to and your interests and hobbies. Also, include your financial information and a few good personal references. 

Property Management/Realty Rental Companies: There are several property management/realty rental companies in Santa Barbara that specialize in residential properties and provide rental services. Most charge a nonrefundable application fee
