Programs

SBCC Study Abroad Program offers short and semester programs every academic year. Programs are faculty-led and therefore destinations as well as course offerings change each year.

We strive to offer financially accessible programs. With an emphasis on diversity and affordability, SBCC Study Abroad aims to offer programs to a diverse student body. Applicants do not have to be enrolled at SBCC in order to apply and the programs have no major or language requirements. Applications are straightforward and requirements are attainable. Programs are first-come, first-serve and we encourage you to apply early as programs often fill before the application deadline.

Courses offered on the programs are usually UC/CSU transferable and may fulfill IGETC requirements. Program participants from other schools are required to enroll at SBCC prior to the start of the program in order to register for classes.

Program Information meetings will be offered every semester.  You can find out about events on our event page or by contacting the Study Abroad office.

Studying abroad can be one of the most rewarding and exciting experiences in a student's academic career, and combining learning and travel is education at its best!

However, before you enroll in a study abroad program, it is essential to find out as much as possible about the program, the program provider, and the academic coursework offered to determine whether the program is right for you.

If you are interested in one of SBCC's programs, we strongly advise you to attend the program's information meeting with the program director or to meet with the Study Abroad Program Advisor and your Academic and Financial Aid Advisor.

Also, to make the most of your experience abroad, it is essential to prepare yourself adequately and to become knowledgeable about the country(ies) you will be visiting. We have many online resources available to you. Just browse our pages!
