Its landmarks include the Royal Palace of Madrid; the Teatro Real (Royal Theatre) with its restored 1850 Opera House; the Buen Retiro Park, founded in 1631, and the 19th-century National Library building which contains some of Spain's historical archives.
You will also have the opportunity to visit the Golden Triangle of Art, that comprises three art museums: the Prado Museum, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. Included in the program are excursions to Barcelona and the Basque country.
