Head Coach Sandrine Krul krul@sbcc.edu
Sandrine enters her sixth season (101-58 overall, 44-16 WSC) at Santa Barbara City College, where she's built the Women's Basketball program into one of the top teams in the state and the Western State Conference. They ended their season with a 22-13 overall record last year and 8-4 in the Western State Conference.
The goal for this year is to continue to build a program that is based on class, discipline, and pride. Each team member must strive to reach each core value for success in the classroom and on the basketball court. The core values are Conviction, Over Learn, Adaptability, Consistency, and Honesty.
Krul is a former first-team All-State performer at L.A. Valley College. She finished her career at Cal State San Bernardino, where she earned All-Conference honors. She received her BA in Kinesiology from CSUN and graduated with honors with her Masters in Education from Azusa Pacific University. She is our Introduction to Kinesiology instructor as well our Cardio Boxing Instructor. Sandrine resides in Carpinteria with her husband, John, and their two children, Cameron and Megan.
Assistant Coach Ashley Alderton amalderton@sbcc.edu
Ashley Alderton's responsibilities are team scouting, recruiting and on-floor coaching. She is also our women’s full-time Equipment Manager. Her greatest gift is the ability to recruit top quality student-athletes to SBCC. She completed her playing career at Cal State San Bernardino in 2006 and completed her BA at CSUN in 2008.
Ashley is a graduate of Royal High School and moved on to Moorpark College, where she earned All-State honors. She resides in Santa Barbara and will pursue her Masters in Physical Education.
Assistant Coach Melissa 'G' Jimenez
Melissa is no stranger to SBCC athletics. She played during the 2004-06 seasons and her teams made history. In her two years, the Vaqueros went 39-23. She was an All-WSC player as well as the recipient of the prestigious Vaquero Award. Her responsibilities include team scouting and film sessions with the guards. She is a competitor and will bring her mental toughness during guard clinics.
