Pablo Diaz Photo

Pablo Diaz joined the Transfer Achievement Program (TAP) in April 2013 as a program counselor. Pablo is originally from Fremont, CA and moved to Santa Barbara in the summer of 2012. Pablo was a first generation college student and earned his B.A. in Human Communication at CSU, Monterey Bay and his M.A. in Educational Counseling at San Jose State University. While at SJSU Pablo was a collegiate athlete and was the captain of the Spartan Boxing team. In 2011 and 2012 he received All-American honors after winning the NCBA (National Collegiate Boxing Association) Regional Championship. Pablo still has a passion for boxing, but his primary focus is to help students achieve their educational and career goals. Pablo’s career goal is to help students achieve higher education and he is currently living his dream while working for TAP at Santa Barbara City College.

Laura Cardenas Photo

Laura Cardenas is a Transfer Achievement Program Counselor. Laura was born and raised in Santa Barbara. She received her AA in Liberal Arts at Santa Barbara City College and is currently attending Antioch University where she is earning her BA in Psychology. She is a single mom with three daughters. She works part time in the Transfer Achievement Program. On her free time Laura enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Most of her free time consists of various sports activities her children are involved in, including traveling with her daughter's soccer team.

Dr. JennyErika Barco is the Transfer Achievement Program  Coordinator|Counselor. JennyErika is a proud Central American raised in South Los Angeles. She received her BA in Spanish and M.S. in Counseling from Cal State L.A.  JennyErika completed her doctorate degree in Education with the focus on academic advisement and 1st generation Latinx student academic success. On her spare time she enjoys long walks with her golden retriever and training for 5k races.
