PROGRAM DIRECTORS

Professor Elizabeth Mizrahi-Imhof teaches Middle East and Ottoman history at Santa Barbara City College. She has worked as a tour leader for study programs to the Middle East and has traveled extensively throughout the region including Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Turkey and Greece. In the spring of 2007, she co-directed SBCC's first semester-length program in Greece and Turkey.

Professor Phyllisa Eisentraut teaches Anthropology and Archaeology at Santa Barbara City College. She is an archaeologist by training with extensive archaeological experience in Peru, the American Southwest, the Great Basin and California. She has worked throughout southern Peru, studying prehistoric plant usage and the domestication of plants and animals. and has traveled extensively throughout Peru, Chile and Bolivia. She and Professor Mizrahi met during the summer of 2005 during a National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship in Peru.
