AND ITALIAN LANGUAGE
IN FLORENCE & ROME
JANUARY - APRIL, 2010

The Duomo in Florence

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Immerse yourself in experiential learning and spend the spring semester 2010 in Florence and Rome with Santa Barbara City College.  The SBCC Semester Abroad in Florence and Rome includes courses in communication, art history, and Italian language.  The program begins in Florence, the heart of the Renaissance, where you will experience Italian culture through study, instruction, and immersion in the daily life of this Tuscan city.  You will participate in field trips in and around Tuscany while the program is in Florence.  The program continues in Rome, the 2,700 year-old Italian capital.  The streets of Rome are filled with history and architectural masterpeices and its museums and churches hold priceless works of art.  You will visit the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, the Coliseum and the Pantheon, among other places.  The SBCC Semester Abroad program in Florence and Rome is academic in nature, but it also provides you with the opportunity to make new friends, become acquainted with Italy’s living history, and learn through direct experience with Italian language, customs, and cuisine.
