IN ROME & PARIS
FEBRUARY 8 - MAY 9, 2009
(dates are tentative)

Colisseum, Rome

HIGHLIGHTS

The Rome-Paris program will begin with six weeks in the “Eternal City” of Rome. Students will make their own movies on the streets of Rome while they study the work of great Italian film directors such as Fellini, Antonioni, Rossellini and Bertolucci. They will visit the Coliseum, Roman Forum and School for Gladiators while studying the history of the ancient world.

At the end of six weeks, students take their spring break and have the option of touring Europe for ten days between the Rome and Paris segments of the program and will reconnect in Paris.

The second six-week segment of the Rome-Paris Program will begin as spring arrives in Paris, the “City of Light.” Students will continue to create their own movies on the streets of Paris while studying the work of great French film directors such as Renoir, Truffaut, Godard and Malle. They will also have the opportunity to visit the myriad museums, galleries and studios of Paris as they study the history of art.

At the end of the Paris segment of the program, students have the option of traveling to Cannes for a five-day, two-unit Film Festival Studies course at the Cannes Film Festival on the French Riviera.
