TENTATIVE PROGRAM COST
The program cost is estimated to be $3,850 without airfare.
The optional transporation package consisting of round-trip airfare (LAX-Kigali-LAX) and round-trip overseas airport transfers is available at an additional cost of $1,800 plus mandatory US government and airline-imposed departure taxes, fees and fuel surcharges (estimated at $550). Airfare cannot be arranged for students applying after Friday, March 27th, 2009.
Included:
- Double room on sharing basis in hotels or lodges
- Daily Breakfast and some additional meals
- Group transfers to/from housing and from/to airport in Rwanda
- Guided sightseeing tours and excursions
- All l ocal in-country transportation
- Entrance fees at all historic sites as per the itinerary
- Basic medical insurance
Not included:
- Optional transportation package
- Transportation to and from LAX
- Optional gorilla hike (estimated at $550)
- Lunches and dinners
- Vaccinations (approx. $500)
- Textbooks
- SBCC fees (non-residents are required to pay out-of-state fees)
- Passport fees
- Personal expenses
Financial Aid:
There is no financial aid for the summer programs, but students can apply for financial aid for the spring semester and use the money during the summer. If you need financial aid to participate in the Rwanda program, go to the Financial Aid Office and begin financial aid paperwork immediately. It takes the Financial Aid Office a minimum of 4 - 6 weeks to process your paperwork and determine your eligibility for aid.
