Professor Laura Gardinali has been a full-time faculty, teaching Italian and French in the School of Modern Languages since 2004.  Before then she taught Italian at SBCC, UCSB and Ventura Community College.  She holds a BA in Foreign Languages from the University of Bergamo, Italy, and a PhD in Education with an emphasis on culture and language teaching pedagogy from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  She grew up in Italy in the northern lake region (Lecco). Before moving to California, she lived abroad in Paris, France, for several years.  Professor Gardinali directed SBCC’s summer Viareggio program in 2006.
