PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Picture yourself in Madrid, Spain in the fall of 2016 experiencing this capital city and studying Spanish language and culture, and intercultural communication and potentially interning at a Spanish company or non-profit organization!
Madrid is the largest city in Spain with a population of roughly 3.3 million. While Madrid possesses a modern infrastructure, it has preserved the look and feel of many of its historic neighborhoods and streets. Its landmarks include the Royal Palace of Madrid; the Teatro Real (Royal Theatre) with its restored 1850 Opera House;  the Buen Retiro Park, founded in 1631, and the 19th-century National Library building which contains some of Spain's historical archives.
You will also have the opportunity to visit the Golden Triangle of Art, that comprises three art museums: the Prado Museum, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. Included in the program are excursions to Barcelona and the Basque country.
