PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Picture yourself in Madrid, Spain in the fall of 2014 experiencing this capital city and studying Spanish language and culture, intercultural communication and film production and potentially interning at a Spanish company or non-profit organization!
Madrid is the largest city in Spain with a population of roughly 3.3 million. While Madrid possesses a modern infrastructure, it has preserved the look and feel of many of its historic neighborhoods and streets. Its landmarks include the Royal Palace of Madrid; the Teatro Real (Royal Theatre) with its restored 1850 Opera House;  the Buen Retiro Park, founded in 1631, and the 19th-century National Library building which contains some of Spain's historical archives.
You will also have the opportunity to visit the Golden Triangle of Art, that comprises three art museums:  the Prado Museum, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. Included in the program are excursions to Barcelona and the Basque country.
