PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Born and raised in Arizona, Professor Clara Oropeza is a native Spanish speaker who works enthusiastically to bring Latin American culture, history, and literature to the community college experience. Her extensive travels throughout the region and her graduate emphasis in Latin American prose led her to design and customize SBCC’s fall 2009 Argentina and Chile Study Abroad Program, for which she is program director. Professor Oropeza holds both baccalaureate and masters degrees in English Literature and she is the author of several published essays, including her most recent title Dancing with Death: Baile con la Muerte, available in SageWoman magazine.
