<title>SBCC Continuing Education To Host November 20 Community Forum</title>

Wake Center's Thornton Auditorium at 300 North Turnpike Road in Santa Barbara.  The event is free and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.</description>

<title>SBCC Scheinfeld Center Presents A Converation with Wayne Rosing</title>

<description>Santa Barbara City College's Scheinfeld Center will host Wayne Rosing, former head of engineering at Google, on Fri., Nov. 20 from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. at the Fé Bland Forum on SBCC's West Campus.

Another installment in the Scheinfeld Center's popular Enlightened Entrepreneurship Series, this program will focus on Design and Innovation during a casual chat with Wayne Rosing.  The audience will have an opportunity to participate in a Q &amp; A time with Mr. Rosing and can personally interact during a reception and networking to follow. A Conversation with Wayne Rosing presents a rare opportunity for guests to access the inner workings of a true innovator who helped create the distinctive Google environment.

<title>SBCC Dance Concert Visions, Dreams and Memories</title>

<description>Parts of Santa Barbara City College's scenic campus will become the backdrop for &quot;Visions, Dreams &amp; Memories&quot; a live performance by 20 SBCC Dance Concert Course students on Friday, and Saturday, October 23 -24 at 2 p.m. on the College's Main Campus.

The site-specific program will begin at the Physical Education Building Room 113 with a tour guide taking the audience through the Environmental Horticulture Department's scenic Lifescape Gardens and the College's Winslow Maxwell Overlook with views of the Santa Barbara Harbor.  

The 60-minute performance, which includes dance, music and song, will be filmed and shown in the fall as a community screening.  

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and children.  Fifty percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County.  For information or reservations, please call (805) 892-3732.

<title>SBCC Student Newspaper The Channels and Staff Named Finalists in National Collegiate Competition</title>

<description>The Santa Barbara City College student newspaper The Channels and its 2008 - 2009 staff have been named finalists for three national Pacemaker Awards from the Associated Collegiate Press.  The awards are widely considered the &quot;Pulitzer Prize of student journalism.&quot;

Both the print and online Channels were named finalists for 2008 - 2009 in their respective categories in the two-year college categories   In addition, The Channels' staff photographer James Sinclair was named one the top five student photojournalists in the 'spot news category' for his panoramic photograph of the Jesusita Fire in Santa Barbara.

<title>Enrollment Fee Increase Enacted by State Legislature</title>

<description>On July 28, 2009, the California legislature increased the enrollment fee for all California community colleges from $20 to $26 per unit effective Fall 2009. As a result, the enrollment fee for Santa Barbara City College has also increased from $20 to $26 per unit and the increase is in place effective August 7, 2009.</description>

<title>SBCC Begins Construction of New Conference and Press Center</title>

<description>Construction is now underway for the new Santa Barbara City College Luria Conference and Press Center at SBCC's La Playa Stadium. The new 971 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility will include two conference rooms, coaches' box, an announcer's booth, and universal viewing areas as well as new paving and landscaping. The estimated completion date is December 2009. </description>
