We've moved! For prerequisite and corequisite information go to our new website:
Important: These pages are no longer being updated. Current prerequisite and corequisite information can be found at sbcc.edu/teo.
- Assessment: Assessment results may satisfy some English, ESL and/or math prerequisites
and/or corequisites. Scores from assessment tests taken at other colleges/universities
may be accepted. Please refer to Assessment for options and details.
- Completed SBCC Courses: Students who have completed a prerequisite or corequisite course at Santa Barbara City College and received a grade of "C" or better will be permitted to enroll in the subsequent course requiring the prerequisite.
- External Coursework Completed: Students must complete a Prerequisite Verification Form A requesting consideration of coursework completed at other institutions as satisfaction
of prerequisites and then register for the advanced course. Official transcripts must
be on file or sent from sending institution to the SBCC Admissions & Records.
- Other Options: In some cases prerequisites may be satisfied through means other than coursework, i.e., a student who is already fluent in a foreign language but doesn't have any foreign language coursework. In such cases students must file a Prerequisite Verification Form B.
