The Center for Philosophical Education at Santa Barbara City College embraces the historical responsibility which philosophy has come to play throughout academia, particularly at the undergraduate level. From Plato's creation of the Academy to the ubiquitousness of the Philosophical Doctorate (Ph.D.) throughout academia, CPE welcomes philosophy's broad, yet unique role as a catalyst in sparking a sense of wonderment and fostering a love of wisdom.
