Teaching Experience
I started at SBCC in January 2003 as an Associate Degree Nursing faculty member. Prior to coming to SBCC, I worked in a variety of nursing positions as a staff nurse and in supervisory/management roles. I have had experience teaching at an Associate Degree Nursing program as a clinical instructor in Colorado. I have also taught theory and clinical at an LVN program in California.
This semester I taught Structural Disability, Communication, Cultural Diversity and Spirituality, Neurology, Physical Assessment and Maternal/Newborn. Currently, I teach Maternal/Newborn, and Physical Assessment. I am approved by the BRN to work with students on general medical-surgical units as well as obstetrics.
Professional Experience
I am looking forward to becoming involved with various organizations that promote and/or support nursing, including the National League for Nursing (NLN).
Personal Statement
My personal motto is " I am here to help you succeed in the program and not set you up to fail". I strive to present myself as a positive role model as a person and as a nurse. I love nursing and I am excited in being able to influence young people, who are entering the nursing profession.
