Registered Nursing/Associate Degree Nursing Faculty
Jane Metiu, RN, MSN
Education/Degrees
BSN, Georgetown University
MSN, University of Texas at Austin
Teaching Experience
My first teaching experience was at New England Baptist School of Nursing. Since then, I have taught full time at Santa Barbara City College in the Vocational Nursing (VN) Program and in the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Program. Currently, I teach in the ADN Program and am Director of the Allied Health and Nursing Laboratory and Chair of the Allied Health Department.
Professional Experience
Prior to teaching nursing, I worked as a medical-surgical staff nurse, public health nurse, school nurse and nurse educator in the staff development department of a large medical center.
Personal Statement
We have an excellent ADN Program at SBCC. Many of the RNs working in Santa Barbara are graduates of our program. Often my former students provide the healthcare for my family and me and it is a joy to see them performing their jobs so competently. I am proud of our graduates and glad to be part of an outstanding nursing program.
