Teaching Experience
I have taught at all levels of nursing, the certified nurse assistant program, the Vocational Nurse Program, the Associate Degree Nursing Program and the BSN Program for the Statewide Nursing Program. I have been with the SBCC ADN Program since 1989. I have taught almost every course in the program. My specialties are obstetrics and medical/surgical nursing.
Currently I am the Director and Department Chair for the ADN Program. I have been active in the community promoting our excellent program and working with local acute care facilities and Cottage Hospital to expand our program to help fill the tremendous need for RN’s in our community. I am the founding member of the Santa Barbara City College Nursing Alumni Association and the Student Nurses Association. Both of these groups’ goals are to assist students in our nursing programs! I urge you to join!
Professional Experience
I graduated from the SBCC ADN Program and worked at Cottage Hospital as an RN for many years. I have also worked at Vista del Monte as Director of Staff Development. I have written and worked on many grants to help to improve our program.
Personal Statement
I love teaching and nursing and feel I have the best of both worlds! I love to watch our nursing students grow and mature in two short years into wonderful nurses in our community! I feel blessed to be able to be part of that experience!!
