Sustainable Living with Less Resources to be focus of SBCC-sponsored Lecture
The Santa Barbara City College Center for Sustainability will sponsor “Santa Barbara’s Deep Green Future with Art Ludwig” on Mon., Aug. 3, at 7 p.m. at the Santa Barbara Central Library’s Faulkner Gallery, 40 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara.
An ecological systems designer and greywater specialist with Oasis Design, Mr. Ludwig will present an overview of the advantages of integrated design and then give specifics of what systems would enable Santa Barbarans to live better on 80 percent less resources and how to integrate them into their own lifestyles. He also will discuss removing institutional barriers to sustainability with a focus on water. Specific topics include: super efficient fixtures; water reuse; rainwater harvesting; fire-safe construction; and healthy transport.
This event is co-sponsored by the Santa Barbara Permaculture Network, and a donation of $10 is requested. For more information, contact 962-2571.
