Santa Barbara City College announced its selection of School of Justice Studies Professor Anne Redding as Faculty Lecturer for 2018. The annual lecture is scheduled for March 21, 2018.
“Being named Faculty Lecturer is both an honor and a privilege,” said Redding. “I’m very thankful.”
SBCC faculty, staff and students participated in a nomination process overseen by the college’s Faculty Lecturer Committee to select Redding. She has been a valued faculty member in the School of Justice Studies and an active member of the college community since 2004.
Students recognize Anne’s dedication and passion for teaching as evidenced by these student comments:
“She does more than just lecture to students, she involves them in their learning by relating the material to situations that make it clearly understandable.”
“Her classes are fun, interactive, AND most importantly, informative.”
“She makes you want to learn more.”
“She was not only extremely dedicated to her students by staying after and helping us, but I learned so much from her. “
“In addition to being appreciated and valued by her students, Anne is highly respected by faculty and staff colleagues,” notes Pam Guenther, SBCC Faculty Lecturer for 2017. “She is a dedicated co-chair to the AJ Program at SBCC. She brings her experience as a law enforcement official for many years, as well as her enthusiasm and humor, to her classrooms and endeavors at SBCC and in our local community.”
Redding plans to speak on how methods used in criminal justice can serve as teaching
tools in the classroom and beyond.
