Dr. Andreea Serban Appointed to State and Local Boards

Santa Barbara City College Superintendent/President Dr. Andreea M. Serban has been elected to the Board of Directors of the California Community College Commission on Athletics (COA). She will serve a three–year term which became effective August 28.
The COA establishes and oversees the enforcement of the rules and regulations and guides the administration of the intercollegiate athletic programs of the California Community Colleges. The California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) functions directly under the jurisdiction of the Commission on Athletics. The COA Board also defines both policy and direction for the CCCAA.

Dr. Serban has also accepted the request from the Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce to continue to serve for another term through 2012 on its Board of Directors. The volunteer board is primarily responsible for governance and policy making for the business association representing some 2,000 local businesses.
