Accreditation Site Visit

During October 19 – 22, 2009, Santa Barbara City College received a site visit for the Reaffirmation of Accreditation by an 11-member team representing the Accreditation Commission for Community and Junior Colleges. This critically important process takes place for colleges every six years and SBCC earned a very positive preliminary report and nine commendations.
Superintendent/President Dr. Andreea Serban said “The intense preparation and hard work of many, particularly over the last 15 months, have more than paid off. Such a positive external validation by our colleagues from other two-year institutions across the state is further acknowledgment of the excellent institution that we are and our dedication to our core mission of student success” SBCC’s final report will be issued by the Commission in January 2010.
