Ann Diener Exhibit at Atkinson Gallery

Where:Atkinson Gallery, East Campus
Entangled Grid, the first art exhibit of the SBCC spring semester, is currently on display at the
gallery’s permanent location in the newly renovated Humanities Building on East Campus.
Artist Ann Diener’s most recent drawings were created by overlaying images of the city of Los Angeles as it now exists onto its historical blueprint. .The grids morph alternately into the crisscross of streets, stained glass windowpanes and towering steel frameworks. Linear rather than solid, Ms. Diener’s Los Angeles is cacophonously impermanent, in a state of constant flux.
The artist’s one-person exhibitions include Bank Gallery in Los Angeles, the UCSB Art, Design and Architecture Museum in Santa Barbara, Electric Works Gallery in San Francisco and the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum (now the Museum of Contemporary Art). Her work has been featured by Bank Gallery at several art fairs including Pulse in London, Aqua in Miami and Preview Berlin in Berlin.
The Entangled Grid exhibit will run until February 28. Regular Atkinson Gallery Hours: Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Friday -Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The gallery will be closed February 14- 17. For more information: http://gallery.sbcc.edu/ or 805-965-0581, ext. 3484,
