Through the generous support of the Yamaha Corporation of America and Micheals Music in Goleta, the Santa Barbara City College Music Department is able to provide a state of the art piano laboratory for students wishing to study the instrument at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced level. The lab features 21 Yamaha Clavinova digital keyboards with weighted keys, two Clavinova Control Stations for the instructor, and a Yamaha baby grand piano. Each student is equipped with a headset and microphone, enabling the insructor to engage in two way communication with any student or group of students at once. The instructor can also demonstrate or monitor music from any individual or group of keyboards. Josephine Brummel is the instructor for all piano classes offered at SBCC.
