The Marine Technology modular curriculum has been designed with diverse academic and vocational requirements. Hands-on applied learning, student mastery of skills and academics performance are the guiding principles for student success.

The 32 week two-semester program can lead to commercial diving industry certifications from both The Association of Diving Contractors (ADC) and The Association of Commercial Diving Educators (ACDE) under ANSI/ACDE-01-1998 as required by OSHA in the United States.

The curriculum has been designed for those who are disciplined, professional and serious about professional marine technology careers. SBCC's unique program offers multiple career options at affordable community college tuition rates.

The program is structured so that modules can generally be completed in two successive semesters for those who choose to attend full-time. For those students desiring to earn a college certificate or an A.S. degree, an additional 1-2 semesters may be required, depending on prior coursework and transfers. Part time attendance is common for working adults and students.
