Donna
Waggoner has worked in the field of education
since 1972. She received a B.S. in Elementary Education
in 1972 from the University of Connecticut after completing
a semester of student teaching in England. She returned
to her hometown of Norwich, CT and taught third and
fourth graders until 1980. While teaching, she attended
Central Connecticut State College and completed her
M.S. in Art Education in 1977. She moved to Santa
Barbara in 1980 and has worked in the field of higher
education coordinating programs for Golden Gate University
and the Fielding Graduate University. She also taught
English Skills classes for Santa Barbara City College’s
credit and non-credit programs.
In 2005 she started working full-time as Tutorial
Center Coordinator at Santa Barbara City College.
In this capacity, she is responsible for coordinating
the hiring and training of tutors for about 40 different
subject areas. She interacts with department tutor
supervisors, and she is pivotal in directing students
to tutoring services.
