5. Student of the Week Award

Students who may be rewarded for excellence tend to succeed due to the competition for the reward.

ACTIVITY: Each week one student is selected by the instructor ad is honored as "Student of the Week". Student gets their name on the board, and is asked to stand up. The instructor explains why they were selected (perfect attendance, consistent perfect homework turned in, etc.) and they receive applause from fellow students. The student's work may be displayed. The simple recognition is fun.
