EXPECTATIONS

1. Students can set realistic career goals and expectations for themselves if they have an opportunity to meet and talk with people who are currently working and performing duties related to the class material.

ACTIVITY: Guest Speakers ­ Guests speakers come into class and present timely related information. Students can ask questions. The guests serve as roll models.

2. Students will be successful because they know in advance what is expected of them and they are able to determine if they have met the standard.

ACTIVITY: Self-evaluation of portfolio ­ Students will evaluate their portfolio (binder showcase of the semester's work) prior to turning it in. The evaluation sheet or check-off list is handed out about two weeks prior to due date. Students are also given guidelines throughout the semester for portfolio preparation.
