Task Precision 2 -- Mary Gibson
Use of skeleton lecture outlines
Description of activity or assignment
Skeletal outlines of the day's topic are handed out at the beginning of that class or unit. The students are encouraged to use them for note taking.
Materials needed
Outlines for each topic or unit, duplicated in the appropriate number. It is possible to make these up as a packet for sale at the bookstore.
Procedure and time needed
Using your lecture notes, prepare an outline which has additional space for student notes, and gives the broad headings. Go no lower than I. (your unit for the class); A. (sub-topic for the unit); and perhaps 1. (if the sub-topic needs more detailed breakdown). Time needed to complete these outlines will vary depending on how organized your lecture notes are at the time of compilation.
Handout the outline before beginning the unit or require the students to purchase them in a packet when they buy their books.
