7. Announcements
I am making sure that I mention health services as well as special events to my students. I am now also trying to bring representatives of these services to my classes. We also have discussed some of the benefits of using services available at SBCC.

CATS
I make a second use of CATS to have students indicate if they have a problem or are under some type of stress. If they indicate they are having a lot of stress I will confer with them and suggest that they see someone in the wellness office.

Reason for Use
I find that the CATS cards give me a lot of information about the state of a student's mental and physiological health. This coupled with announcements about services offered at SBCC may allow me the opportunity to direct a student to the right service.

Observations
I have discovered that many students have problems which interfere with their school work. I can connect them with the right service. What I need to do more is invite representatives from these services to talk with my classes for a few minutes.
