3. Cooperative Work
While individual competition with oneself is stressed, I emphasize to students that we need to work together on many tasks and assignments. Therefore, students in my class do a lot of cooperative group projects.

Reason for Use
I had used cooperative group work before and I have done this on a regular basis after I participated in the Faculty Enrichment Committee Cooperative Learning Workshop.

Observations
I continue to be pleased with this method. I find three things happen when I use this method. Students get to know each other fairly well; I have more opportunities to work with groups and individuals( the facilitator role ); and often groups will disagree with my view and may offer other points to consider.
