These Student Success materials were developed by SBCC pilot faculty and address
the large numbers of students who enter college courses lacking basic learning
skills. These assignments share the assumption that in order for students to
become independent learners, learning skills must be part of mainstream content instruction.
Instructors in the pilot groups have addressed such areas as study habits, time management,
team work, problem solving, goal setting, writing and reading skills, and test-taking.
The assignments are free for the taking (or modifying) and are searchable by discipline, by subject, and by author.
