The CLRC offers a series of Learning Skills Workshops and Writing Skills Workshops every semester. All workshops are held on Thursdays from 1:00pm to 1:50pm in the Cartwright Learning Resources Center, next to the Luria Library on West Campus.

Workshops are open to all SBCC students unless noted. Seating is limited, so arrive in time to secure a seat.

Note Taking Strategies - September 4
Expand your knowledge of note-taking techniques and purposes.

Time Management - September 18
Manage your time effectively and create healthier lifestyle patterns.

Overcoming Procrastination - October 2
Learn about causes of procrastination and create an action plan to eliminate it from your life.

Taking Tests - October 16
Increase success and confidence by examining academic and emotional management techniques.

Learning Styles - October 30
Identify your own learning styles and how to adapt them to the dominant teaching styles.

Math Confidence - November 13
Develop strategies that promote a positive attitude and productive participation in your math class.

Stress Management - December 4
Learn to manage stress and obtain a healthier lifestyle for better overall wellness.

Open to students from all classes, including English, History, Communications, and Biology.

For any of the workshops, you may bring an assignment on which you are currently working, or use one of our examples.

No pre-registration necessary. Arrive in time to secure a seat; limited to 36 participants each session.
