Currently enrolled SBCC students may use the Computer Commons for class-related work.
Students may visit the CAI computer classrooms only during their instructors' reserved lab time.
If you need to use a computer for class-related work outside those hours, please check in at the main counter
in the LRC to use a workstation in the Computer Commons.
Please present your SBCC student ID card at the main counter in the CLRC to check in to use a computer.

CLRC computers provide Microsoft Office, several internet browsers, and a number of class-related programs. We do
not currently offer professional image or video editing software. Please ask a computer tutor for the current
list of installed applications.
Place the yellow HELP sign on top of your computer monitor and a computer tutor will be right with you.
During your class in the CAI labs, your instructor can also call a computer tutor using the call light.

The Computer Commons are an open lab area that is mostly used by individual students.
This area houses around 20 Macs and 45 PCs for general use, two DSPS workstations, and 8 Macs for Music class
assignments.

The CLRC provides limited free printing as well as paid printing using the campuswide GoPrint system.
Students may print one copy of an academic paper for free. Additional copies as well as
many other documents (e.g., internet content, class materials...) can be printed for 10 cents per page using the SBCC
Campus Card. Please refer to our full
printing policy for more details.
DSPS(Disabled Student Program and Services) computer stations are
available in the Computer Commons and in CAI lab 1. These computers have
a variety of features and applications tailored to those with special needs.
Only students who have received training with Assistive Technology should be
using these machines. Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS) provides
educational and vocational support through courses, labs, assessment, counseling
and accommodations. Interested students should contact the DSPS program
at (805) 965-0581 x2364 or TTY (805) 962-4084.

The CAI (computer assisted instruction) labs are two computer classrooms located in the
Cartwright Learning Resources Center. They are available for classes during the CLRC's opening hours.
Each CAI lab houses 35 G5 iMac computers for students and an instructor
workstation; a video projector; and a laser printer. CAI lab 1 also includes a DSPS workstation.

(cimino@sbcc.edu, ext. 2658).
We also send out reservation forms by email to English faculty several months prior to the start of each semester.
