Beginning this year, students planning to attend
any California community college in the Fall of 2001 have until
September 2nd to apply for the Cal Grant. If students are awarded
a Cal Grant, it will pay up to $1,551 for the academic year. Please
encourage any students you come across to contact the Financial
Aid Office at (805) 965-0581 x2716 to request a GPA Verification
Form. They also must file a 2001/2002 FAFSA as well. Those forms
are available online at: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. The GPA Verification form must be turned into the SBCC Admissions
and Records Office no later than a week before the September 2nd
deadline. In some cases, students will have to take the GPA Verification
form to another school (i.e high school) if they have not completed
a sufficient number of college units.
