Student Stories
MacArthur Fellow Dr. Angela Belcher is an MIT professor and pioneering researcher of self-assembling viruses for electronic nanotechnology applications. Once a 4.0 GPA student at SBCC, she transferred to UCSB to complete both her bachelor's and Ph.D. In 2001, she made the cover of Forbes Magazine for her work in nanotechnology, and in 2006 was named Scientific American's Research Leader of the Year.
