What teaching tip or counseling advice do you have for other faculty?

Be excited by what you teach. Students notice and will, in turn, be excited to learn.

What careers or jobs did you have before working at SBCC?

I was a pharmacy technician at SB Cottage Hospital (while teaching at SBCC) for 7 years

What is your favorite student line or excuse?

“Do I need to know how to spell?”

What are your hobbies/interests? ?

Coaching my daughter’s softball team.

What do you love about your job?

Well, I like the money but I love getting to know the students and to feel that I made a difference in their education.

What has been your greatest accomplishment and/or challenge?

Raising 4 kids answers both parts of that question.

What's one thing most people don't know about you?

I earned a black belt in karate and competed during college.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

My idea of perfect happiness is watching my kids play baseball/softball on a sunny, spring day.

What is your favorite place in the world?

My favorite place is home.
