Biography of Mark Ferrer :

 

Mark Ferrer has lived in Santa Barbara for over 50 years. He graduated as a tutorial major from UCSB and entered the Peace Corps in 1966 working for two years as a forester in Chile. On his return he entered graduate school in English at UCSB, was a TA and then faculty member and writing program director in the English department. He retired as an emeritus from UCSB after 20 years and began teaching  Composition and then directing the Faculty Resource Center at SBCC where he is now completing his 18th year. He as well has taught short story, poetry and Shakespeare at Adult Education for more than 30 years.
