TWELVE UNIT REQUIREMENT
(WITHOUT ENROLLING IN STUDENT TEACHING COURSES)

Area One: Child, Family and Community 3.0 Units

ECE 102 Child, Family, and Community (3.0)

Area Two: Child Growth and Development 3.0 Units

ECE 120 Child Growth and Development for Educators (3.0 )

OR

PSYCH 140 Child Development (3.0)

Area Three: Program and Curriculum 6.0 Units

ECE 108 Creative Learning and Curriculum (3.0)

ECE 110 Science for the Preschool Child (3.0)

ECE 115 Children's Literature (3.0)

ECE 121 Health, Safety, and Nutrition for Young Children (3.0)

ECE 123 Early Childhood Educators Building Skills and Understanding of
Children with Special Needs (3.0)

ECE 124 Working with School-Age Children (3.0)

ECE 128 Observation and Assessment (3.0)

In order to be a caregiver in an infant/toddler center, you will need to complete ECE 141 or ECE 142 in addition to completing the above-mentioned twelve (12) unit requirement.
