The CARE PROGRAM
(Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education) at Santa Barbara City College
provides opportunities for low income single parents to obtain skills and education
necessary to move from poverty to self efficiency.
ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for financial aid in the form of EOPs GRANTS (combined
with other types of state and federal id), you must:
- be a California resident
- be enrolled as a full-time student (12 units or more per term)
- have fewer than 70 units of degree applicable college credits
- qualify to receive a Board of Governor's Fee Waiver (BOGW)
- and be educationally disadvantaged
The KINKO'S EARLY LEARNING CENTER serves students, faculty, and staff. Kinko's
Early Learning Center's Preschool Program is a child-centered child care
facility that encourages children to choose freely from a wide range of play
and learning experiences. In addition, the Program is a student teaching site
for the SBCC Early Childhood Education Department.
Kinko's
Early Learning Center's Infant Program is an infant-child care facility
and a student teaching site for the SBCC Early Childhood Education Department.
Infants and toddlers are encouraged to freely choose from a wide variety of
experiences. The Program provides an environment that promotes infants and toddlers
to actively explore, experience language development, and develop social relationships
with peers and adults. Eligibility requirements and sliding scale fees are determined
by state government statutes. ELIGIBILITY
is based on family size and income. Tuition fees and guidelines may be obtained
from the Director.
The Financial Aid
Office offers several types of financial aid and scholarships which are
funded through federal, state and local agencies and the college, itself. In
many cases these funds can be used for child care expenses.
