Whether the goal is a job promotion or a brand new career – Antioch’s undergraduate concentration in Business Management is designed to provide the skills, knowledge and core competencies needed for success.
Starting with a foundation of sound management and business theory, students can take their learning one step further through the application of those concepts in the real world. Internships, practica and independent study give students the opportunity to gain practical experience and network in their local communities.
Building upon Antioch University’s long history and tradition of experiential learning, our faculty brings real world experience and context to the classroom. Our Business Management faculty includes professionals from all areas of the business world, including corporate and not-for-profit. |

Antioch’s undergraduate concentration in Applied Psychology is designed to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of the theory and practice of psychology. A strong emphasis is placed on the contexts that influence the behavior and development of children, adolescents, adults and families.
The intensive and well-rounded curriculum also provides an excellent foundation for continued graduate study in clinical psychology as well as other psychology related areas.

Our Psychology faculty includes professionals from the fields of clinical and counseling psychology who practice in both private and organizational settings. |

Social Service Administration |
Antioch’s undergraduate concentration in Communication focuses on how people use content to generate understanding within and across various contexts, cultures, channels and media.
The core curriculum is designed to help students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to be effective communicators in both the personal and professional setting. Students explore a wide range of communication studies – including interpersonal, group, organizational, intercultural and technology-mediated communication.

The communication faculty includes professionals in fields such as organizational communication, media studies, creative and professional writing, and public speaking. |

Many students choose a concentration in Social Service Administration because they want to help others and believe one of the best ways to accomplish this is through work in one of California’s many social service agencies and organizations.
Antioch’s Social Service Administration concentration provides the skills and knowledge necessary to be an effective leader within the non-profit and public sectors that are devoted to serving the neediest members of our society.
The curriculum is diverse and multi-disciplinary, and includes coursework from the fields of management, psychology, sociology and communication. A special emphasis is placed on core fundamentals of grant development and fundraising. |

| Creative Writing |

Early Childhood Education |
For many, writing isn’t just a hobby – it’s a passion. Antioch’s concentration in Creative Writing is designed for those students that can’t imagine doing anything else but writing.
The curriculum is designed to give students the opportunity to learn core writing skills and to explore personal expression and creativity. Small, intimate classes provide a safe and engaging environment for writers to find their voice – all taught by faculty comprised of real world authors.
Emphasis is placed on the writing project, where a student can mentor with a writer, and in a genre of their choice. Antioch also sponsors an annual Writer’s Workshop where students have the opportunity to work with some of the most well-regarded authors of our time. |

Eager to complete your BA degree with an academic concentration in the dynamic field of Early Childhood Education? Antioch's new BA concentration in Child, Family and Society provides a responsive educational program for experienced early educators or those just beginning their career. Antioch's experiential approach recognizes the value of life experience while offering carefully sequenced courses designed to challenge assumptions, enhance knowledge and promote critical participation in the field.
CFS takes a systems approach to the important role of families and schools as nurturing settings to support thriving child development, in a fast changing society. Within a community of learners, CFS students will explore contemporary issues in early childhood education, child development and learning theory, inquiry and contemporary research in ECE, models of early education, developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children and the important laws and requirements related to the field. Specific focus will be given to the partnership between families and school settings, access and inclusion, and cultural competence.
With an Antioch BA degree, concentration in Child Family and Society, you will be prepared to be a leader and advocate for the holistic development of young children in your classroom, your school and your community. |

Through Antioch’s core curricula, students explore the central knowledge and skills of their chosen field or profession to prepare for engagement in meaningful and socially responsible work.
Students who prefer to engage in a broad spectrum of studies may choose a Liberal Arts concentration which prepares them to think critically from multiple perspectives and enables them to take responsibility as citizens in an increasingly complex society.
Antioch’s Liberal Arts concentration provides an innovative, student-centered approach to education – focusing on the acquisition of key intellectual tools designed to increase personal awareness, foster individual and social creativity, and encourage professional development and socially responsible thought and action. |
