Coach Teddy Warrecker was named the head coach of the SBCC Baseball program in January of 2001. 2008 saw the Vaqueros reach the Southern California Regionals for the third time in the last four seasons. Depsite losing seven starters from the 2007 squad, the Vaqueros rallied for six wins in their last seven games to claim the final playoff seed. 2007 was a record setting year for the SBCC baseball program. The 2007 squad broke the school record for wins (34) and brought home the first WSC North title since 1972. Eight Vaqueros earned first team All-Conference honors, with Jon DeAlba and Bryce Uhrig being the Player and Pitcher of the Year, and Coach Warrecker earning Coach of the Year honors. The 2007 team reeled off 13 consecutive wins en route to the Conference Championship and the number two seed in the Southern California Regionals.
2005 saw the Vaqueros reach the post-season for the first time since 1978. The 2005 squad set a school record for wins, led the State in ERA, finishing the regular season with a 24-13 mark. Despite an 0-4 start in conference play the 2005 squad battled back to finish third in the Western State Conference that earned them an at-large berth to the play-offs. The 2004 season saw the first winning campaign for the Vaqueros in 23 years, finishing with a 19-16 record overall.
The SBCC Baseball program has dramatically improved their facilities over the past four years including a total infield renovation, permanent lighted batting cages, enclosed bullpen, permanent home-run fence in right field, and a new portable batting cage. Field renovation projects recently completed, include new dugouts with adjacent storage room, turfed homeplate halo, concrete bordered home bullpen mounds, elevated bullpen seating, outfield warning track, landscaping and a permanent electronic scoreboard, and a newly added scoreboard clock. Future facility upgrades will include a pressbox, concession stand, stadium-style-seating, and enclosed visitors bullpen.
Teddy, one of six boys, was born and raised in Santa Barbara. Teddy attended Santa Barbra High School and played for his father and head coach, Fred Warrecker, who enters his 35th season as head coach in 2008. Teddy attended Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria. While at Hancock, Teddy played for longtime Bulldog head Coach John Osbourne. Teddy was a two-time 1st Team all league selection, 1st team All-Northern California and 1st Team All-State. Teddy helped the Bulldogs win the Coast Valley Conference championship in 1993, while setting school career marks in homeruns and RBI.
The following summer Teddy played for the Kenai Oilers of the Alaskan Summer League that went on to win the NBC National Championship in Wichita, Kansas. Teddy attended the University of Arizona before signing with the Cleveland Indians after his junior year. Teddy spent six years in the minor leagues with the Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves. In addition Teddy was invited to Major League Camp as part of the 40 Man Roster with the Cleveland Indians in 1997. Teddy also played in the final season, since reformed, of the Hawaii Winter League for the West Oahu Cane Fires. After professional baseball Teddy completed a Bachelor's Degree in History at Cal-State Northridge and recently finished his Master's Degree in Sport Science from the United States Sports Academy.
Prior to SBCC, Teddy assisted his father Fred at Santa Barbara High School where the Dons won the Channel League in 1999, and 2000 and reached the CIF Southern Section Championship game at Dodger Stadium in 2000. Over the past several years Teddy has been invited to instruct at Showcase Camps at UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as well as camps hosted by Baseball Factory, Area Code, ESPN Rise, TPX Top 96, and the Trosky School of Baseball. Baseball is synonymous with the Warrecker family name.Teddy's father was MVP for the UCSB Gauchos baseball squad in 1960, while brothers Willy, Wes and Donovan played at Cal-Berkley, San Francisco State and UCSB respectively. Teddy, his wife Taryn, and their son Troy, reside in Santa Barbara.
As the Head Baseball Coach at SBCC, Teddy Warrecker is committed to the academic and athletic success of his student-athletes. Coach Warrecker believes that character, accountability, and discipline have helped establish a successful baseball tradition at SBCC. Over the past nine seasons as Head Coach, Teddy Warrecker has seen over fifty players move on to the four year and professional levels.

Assistant Coach: Alex Hoover (3rd Year)
SBCC 2001, San Francisco State 2001-2003
Alex returns to SBCC for his third season after serving as Director of Baseball Operations at the University of the Pacific for head coach Ed Sprague in 2006. Coach Hoover helped Carlos Alonso to All-Southern California honors and the Vaquero Award at the infield position in 2008. Coach Hoover has become a fixture along the Central and South Coast instructing at showcase camps for UCSB, Cal Poly, Baseball Factory, ESPN Rise and The Trosky School of Baseball. Alex played for Coach Warrecker in 2001 before moving on to San Francisco State. Alex served as an Assistant Coach at San Francisco State for three season following his playing career. Alex will work with infielders and assist with baseball operartions. Alex attended St. Joseph High School in Santa Maria. Alex is single and resides in Santa Barbara.
Assistant Coach: Justin Aspegren (2nd Year)
SBCC 2004-2005, UCSB 2006-2007
Justin returns to SBCC for his second season after graduating from UCSB where he was part of the Gauchos pitching staff for the 2006 and 2007 seasons. Justin was a two-year starter as a starting pitcher and utility player at SBCC and helped lead the 2005 squad to the play-offs for the first time since 1978. Justin was part of a pitching staff under former Pitching Coach, Matt Hobbs, that led the State in ERA in 2005. Justin compiled thirteen wins over two years at SBCC while earing All-Conference honors twice. Justin will again handle the pitching staff in 2009 and assist with recruiting. Bryce Uhrig earned Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2008 under the tutelage of Coach Aspegren. A native of Napa, Aspegren attended Justin-Siena High School. Justin is single and resides in Santa Barbara.
Assistant Coach: Jon Combs (1st Year)
SBCC 2003-04, Hawaii 2004-05, San Francisco State 2005-08
Jon joins the coaching staff at City after finishing his playing career at San Francisco State. Jon was a two time All WSC-North selection while playing at SBCC, compiling 21 doubles, 17 home runs and 62 RBI over two seasons. Jon, a native of Santa Barbara, will assist with infielders and hitters.
