Nina Warner is an associate professor in the Art Department at SBCC. Nina has a Masters of Fine Arts degree from The University of California at Santa Barbara. She teaches beginning courses in design, drawing, painting: oil, acrylic, watercolor, as well as intermediate and advanced painting, figure painting, artist books and design literacy. Nina has been the Director of the SBCC International Education Program 1995 and 2000, Florence, Italy, and the Associate Director of the SBCC International Education Program 1990 - Perestroika Closeup: The Soviet Union. She has exhibited in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles, Burbank, Hilo, Hawaii, and Denver, Colorado. Drawing is absolutely essential to all art. It is a way of thinking and problem solving. It shows you a way of looking at the world from inside out. Drawing is a discipline and a form of expression. It is the underlying structure for painting, design, printmaking as well as the 3d arts. Drawing is what I do and what I teach. Not all students are gifted or talented, but all can learn to see the world in a more meaningful way and represent their vision completely on paper. It just takes work and it takes looking and paying attention. ![]() |
