Art Department, Santa Barbara City College

Scholarships

Towards the end of each academic year the Art Department awards several scholarships and awards to art majors.

Students must apply for art scholarships through the Financial Aid Office by their March 2, 2009 deadline. By a later deadline, Art scholarship applicants must also submit a portfolio with five pieces of their best work to the Art Department.
The Financial Aid Office determines student's eligibility and forwards the information to the Art Department full-time faculty, who select scholarship winners based on the submitted portfolio.
Scholarship winners are announced in April at the opening of the annual Student Show at the Art Department's Atkinson Gallery.

Below is a listing of the scholarships that were available in the 2008/2009 school year. The same awards will presumably be available in 2009/2010. At the beginning of 2010, check the "news and events" page of this website for information on the scholarship application procedure.
